Do Praying Mantis eat Carpenter ants and if so could I raise them and release them here in Illinois ?

I live just west of Chicago & we have had 2 nests of Carpenter ants removed when we had water damage in our roof. Also several large parts of our trees have come down in storms all hollow and burrowed by them. I'm just curious if I could buy Praying Mantis Eggs and release them after they are born if they would eat the Carpenter ants? Also would they be able to re breed / survive here ? We are very close to a flood plain also lol - we flood a lot actually, so lots of Mesquitos too. I have pets and respitory problems so I won't use poison indoors and am adverse to using it outdoors also.
