Found a tick!! Please help!!?

Ok so I laid down and My legs were cold so i kinda rubbed my hand down my leg and felt something werid so I pulled back the blanket and looked I couldn't see so I turned on the light and immeaditly realized it was a tick! So i got my mom and she pulled it off with tweezers. It was extremley easy to pull of and it wasn't engorged at all. It was about the size of the tip of my thumb and was brown. It did not have time to burrow down and get it's head under the skin. My mom said I have nothing to worry about because it didn't get to blood but im just asking. Also there is a small bump where he was. Tell me if there is anything else you need to know. XoXo, Abbyzz P.S My mom put it down the sink and ran boiling water down the sink for about half an hour and closed the sink so it can't get back up.
